The Karst spring Prunn is a strong karst spring designated as a natural monument near Riedenburg in Lower Bavaria .
description
The karst spring is in the Prunn district . It is a spring taken in 1911 that pours an average of 600 l / s (min. 300 l / s max. 1,000 l / s) and is one of the strongest springs in Bavaria. It was used to generate electricity as early as 1896 . The turbine house was rebuilt in 1948. Today's maximum power is 16 kW . Presumably this karst well is the origin of the place Prunn. The flowing stream flows into an oxbow lake of the Altmühl after about 550 meters .
