The Kartalkaya Dam ( Kartalkaya Barajı in Turkish ) is located on the Aksu Çayı , a left tributary of the Ceyhan , in the southern Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş .
The Kartalkaya Dam was built in 1965–1972 as a rubble dam. Their purpose is irrigation and water supply.
The barrier structure has a valley height of 57 m (above the valley floor) and has a dam volume of 2 million m³. The associated reservoir covers an area of 10.2 km² and has a storage volume of 148.38 million m³. The district town of Pazarcık is located on the southern shore of the lake . The dam is used to irrigate 22,810 hectares. It also provides 47.3 million m³ of drinking water a year .
