Kartika ( Hindi : कातिक Kātik or कार्तिक Kārtik , Bangla : কার্ত্তিক Kārtik ), is a month of the Hindu lunisolar calendar , the Bengali solar calendar , the Indian national calendar , the Tamil calendar and the Nepalese Vikram Sambat , which corresponds to around mid-October / early November. The month begins in the Hindu calendar with the entry of the sun into a new zodiac sign and ends with the day before the new moon .
