Vyšehořovice Castle
The ruins of the Vyšehořovice Castle (Czech tvrz Vyšehořovice ) are located in the municipality of Vyšehořovice in Okres Praha-východ in the Czech Republic . The building, which is in danger of collapsing, is one of the most important architectural monuments in Středočeský kraj .
history
The quadrangular castle was built in the second half of the 13th century on a the Kollegiatskapitel on the Vyšehrad associated Vorwerkshof north of the church of St. Martin. In the 14th century the Vorwerk became the seat of a Vladiken lordship , the first proven owner of which is passed down to the Havel von Vyšehořovice between 1335 and 1346. In the 15th century the fort belonged to Prague patricians and was jointly acquired in 1524 by Prague's New Town and Old Town. After the goods were annexed to the crown rule of Přerov nad Labem , the castle lost its function as a residence in 1547 and served as a farm. The fort was still inhabited until the second half of the 17th century.
Structural systems
The fort, 30 mx 40 m long and surrounded by a high wall, was built at the beginning of the 15th century. It was surmounted by a square three-storey tower and consisted of a multi-storey living room and farm buildings . In the 16th century, the complex was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, and the attic was also created .
From the 17th century, the complex was left to decay. It is recorded from 1693 that the tower served as a granary and that poultry were kept on the ground floor. As can be seen from an engraving by Franz Alexander Heber from 1843, the tower was half collapsed in the 19th century. During the 20th century, large sections of the outer walls collapsed. Only the stump remains of the tower.
The fort, which today belongs to a private farmyard, is not accessible. Due to the lack of roofing, the decline continues and the owner does not carry out any securing work on the dilapidated building fabric.
