Katalin Varga (also Kata Varga , Kata-Lina Varga ; born March 17, 1954 in Budapest , Hungary ) is a Hungarian actress and director .

Live and act

Katalin Varga studied at the Budapest School of Economics from 1972 to 1976 and graduated with a degree in economics. In 1980 she completed an actor training at the Imre Kerényi Theater and Film Academy in Budapest. In the following three years she was a member of the ensemble of the Katona József Theater in Kecskemét . Between 1983 and 1990 she appeared in the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna and in the Csokonai Theater in Debrecen . She has been working as a freelance actress since 1990. Between 1991 and 2006 she worked as a French-Hungarian translator and interpreter. During this time in France she worked as an actress and director. While her first television appearances were exclusively in Hungarian productions, she later appeared in French films. In 1989 she took part in the German television film Schwarzenberg .
