Katarzyna Popieluch (born September 16, 1963 in Nowy Targ ) is a former Polish cross-country skier .

Career

Popieluch, who started for the AZS Zakopane , first appeared internationally at the Winter Universiade 1987 in Štrbské Pleso . There she won bronze with the relay. At the 1987 World Championships in Oberstdorf she finished 47th over 20 km freestyle, 36th place over 5 km classic and 11th place with the relay. Two years later she won the silver medal with the relay at the Winter Universiade in Vitosha . Her best placements at the 1989 World Championships in Lahti were 22nd place over 15 km classic and 12th place with the relay. At the 1991 Winter Universiade in Sapporo , she again won bronze with the relay and ran at the 1991 World Championships in Val di Fiemme on 47th place over 30 km freestyle, 41st place over 15 km classic and 23rd place over 5 km classic. Together with Małgorzata Ruchała , Bernadeta Bocek and Halina Nowak , she came there in seventh place in the season. She completed her last international race the following year at the Winter Olympics in Albertville . There she achieved the 38th place over 15 km classic.

At Polish championships Popieluch won three times with the relay (1986-1988) and once each over 5 km (1986) and 20 km (1986).
