Halina Jolanta Nowak-Guńka (born June 1, 1970 in Rabka-Zdrój ) is a former Polish biathlete and cross-country skier .
Halina Guńka initially started for Maratonu Mszana Dolna , later for WKS Zakopane . The married economist lives in Chochołów . In cross-country skiing she won silver at the 1989 Winter Universiade in Vitoscha and bronze with the relay at the 1991 Winter Universiade in Sapporo . In January 1992, she competed in a cross-country skiing World Cup over 30-kilometer freestyle in Cogne and finished 42nd. Just a month later she took part in the Winter Olympics for the first time in Albertville and was 52nd in France over 5-kilometer classic, 42 . in the pursuit race and 25th over 30-kilometer freestyle. There was also a tenth place together with Dorota Kwaśny , Bernadeta Bocek-Piotrowska and Małgorzata Ruchała in the relay competition. In 1993 Guńka started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun where she was 50th in the 5-kilometer classic and 35th in the pursuit. In 1994 , the Polish woman played her second Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer . She was 25th in the 15-kilometer freestyle, 58th in the 5-kilometer classic, she did not finish the pursuit.
In 1994 Guńka started biathlon. A year later she made her debut at the 1995 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz , finishing 78th in an individual . Since the 1996/97 season she competed regularly in the Biathlon World Cup . Only in Kontiolahti was she able to win World Cup points in a sprint in 1997 when she finished tenth, and in the relay she was seventh in Antholz in the same year. In Osrblie Guńka started at the Biathlon World Championships 1997 , where she was 65th in the individual, 37th in the sprint and 35th in the pursuit. In addition, she came 14th in the relay race and with Anna Stera-Kustusz , Halina Pitoń and Agata Suszka in the team competition in seventh place. The last major event was the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano , where she was 42nd in the sprint. In 1998 she won the sprint title at the Polish championships.
