Małgorzata Ruchała (born January 21, 1961 in Limanowa ) is a former Polish cross-country skier and biathlete .

Career

Ruchała, who competed for KS Limanovia Limanowa and WKS Legia Zakopane , made her first international appearance at the 1985 Winter Universiade in Belluno . There she won silver with the relay. In biathlon, she finished 22nd in the individual and 12th in the sprint at the 1987 World Championships in Lahti and 23rd in the individual at the 1988 World Championships in Chamonix . Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf were 26th place over 10 km classic and 11th place with the relay and at the Nordic Ski World Championships 1989 in Lahti the 25th place over 30 km freestyle and 12th place with the relay . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 in Fiemme Valley , she came in 27th place over 5 km classic, 26th place over 30 km freestyle and 14th place over 15 km classic. In addition, she won there 11th place with the relay. Her best results at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville were 24th place over 30 km freestyle and tenth place with the relay. In the 1992/93 season she achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup with 12th place over 10 km in Štrbské Pleso . Her best results at the highlight of the season, the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1993 in Falun, were 22nd place over 15 km classic and 11th place with the relay. In the following season she reached the points six times and achieved her best overall placement with 33rd place in the overall World Cup. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , she finished 16th over 30 km classic, 15th over 5 km classic and 14th place in the pursuit. In addition, she was there together with Mićhalina Maciuszek , Dorota Kwaśna and Bernadeta Bocek-Piotrowska eighth in the season. The following year she ran at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Thunder Bay on the 27th place in the pursuit and on the 26th place over 5 km classic. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1997 in Trondheim were 45th place over 5 km classic and 13th place with the relay. She completed her last international race at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . She came in 35th place in the pursuit, 33rd place over 5 km classic and 13th place with the relay.

At Polish championships, Ruchała won six times over 5 km (1987, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1998), five times over 10 km (1984, 1991, 1992, 1995, 1998) and 15 km (1989–1992, 1995), four times over 30 km (1989–1991, 1994), twice over 20 km (1985, 1987) and once over 25 km (1984).
