Maciuszek, who competed for KS Wierchy Rabka , took part in the World Cup for the first time in Autrans in December 1983 and finished 20th over 10 km. This was also her best individual placement in the World Cup. At the Winter Universiade 1985 in Belluno she won silver and at the Winter Universiade 1987 in Štrbské Pleso bronze with the relay. In February 1987 she ran at the World Championships in Oberstdorf on 39th place over 5 km classic, 33rd place over 10 km classic and 32nd place over 20 km freestyle. In addition, she won there together with Katarzyna Popieluch , Małgorzata Ruchała and Jolanta Sokolowska the 11th place in the season. At the 1989 Winter Universiade in Vitosha , she won the silver medal and at the 1991 Winter Universiade in Sapporo, the bronze medal with the relay. She completed her last international race at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . There she came in 40th place over 15 km freestyle, 31st place over 30 km classic and eighth place with the relay. At Polish championships she won five times over 10 km (1985–1989), three times over 20 km (1983, 1985, 1987), twice over 5 km (1984, 1988) and once in combination (1992) and with the relay ( 1984).
Maciuszek is married to the former cross-country skier Józef Łuszczek . Her daughter Paulina Maciuszek is also active in cross-country skiing.
