Paulina Maciuszek (born September 2, 1985 in Rabka-Zdrój ) is a Polish cross-country skier . Maciuszek is the daughter of the two former cross-country skiers Józef Łuszczek and Mićhalina Maciuszek .

Career

Maciuszek has participated in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2004 . She ran her first World Cup race in March 2008 in Bormio , which she finished with 62nd place in the 2.5 km freestyle. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec were 49th place in the 30 km mass start race and sixth place in the relay. Her best result at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver was 28th place in the 30 km mass start race. In December 2010 she got her first World Cup points in La Clusaz with 21st place in the 15 km mass start race. The Tour de Ski 2010/11 she finished in 26th place. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo were 32nd place in the 15 km skiathlon and eighth place in the relay. At the Tour de Ski 2012/13 she reached the 40th place in the overall ranking. Her best placements at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 28th place in the skiathlon and ninth place in the relay. She finished the Tour de Ski 2013/14 in 20th place. In January 2014 in Szklarska Poręba she achieved 19th place in the 10 km mass start race, her best individual World Cup result to date. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , 29th place in the 15 km skiathlon and seventh place in the relay were her best results. She finished the 2013/14 season in 61st place in the overall World Cup ranking.
