Katharina Spraul

Katharina Stefanie Spraul (born February 5, 1980 in Lahr ) is a German business economist and university professor for business administration , especially sustainability management.

Career

After studying business administration at the University of Mannheim , Katharina Spraul received her diploma in 2003. In 2006 she received her doctorate from Peter Eichhorn on the subject of “return on education as a target for university management” at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Mannheim. For her dissertation she received the Prize for Language and Science from the University of Mannheim. With the cumulative habilitation thesis "Corporate, Public and Nonprofit Accountability - Empirical and Theoretical Examinations of an Evolving Concept", she also completed her habilitation in 2013 at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Mannheim (supervised by Bernd Helmig ) and received the venia legendi for business administration.

Since 2013, Katharina Spraul has headed the newly created department of Sustainability Management in the Department of Economics at the TU Kaiserslautern as a university professor . In 2014 she was offered a chair for “General Business Administration, especially Public Management” at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich, which she did not accept.

Research priorities

Her research deals with the complex of topics of sustainability management in and between the three sectors of market, state and civil society. Current research focuses on cooperation for sustainability, sustainability strategies, sustainability in small and medium-sized companies as well as success factors of sustainability networks.
