Katharina Werning

Katharina Daniela Werning (born January 10, 1985 in Dortmund ) is a German jockey . She is the daughter of trainer and stud master Reiner Heinrich Gustav Werning , who runs the Werning family racing stable in Dortmund, where her brother Pascal Jonathan Werning is also active as a jockey.

Werning, dubbed “Germany's most attractive rider” in the daily newspaper Die Welt, has achieved 148 victories as a professional rider on German horse racing tracks. She celebrated her greatest success on June 7, 2007 by winning the Grand Prix of the Frankfurter Volksbank, a list race over 1600 meters. In addition to racing, she also works as a model.

She is a trained horse manager and most recently trained at the Mülheimer Galoppverein Raffelberg eV under trainer Werner Baltromei.

In Fatih Akın's film Soul Kitchen (2009), Werning can be seen with a serious fall that she suffered on the Neuss racetrack in January 2008 and that temporarily interrupted her career.

Werning ended her professional career as a jockey in 2010 and now works as a moderator in racing. She is married and has a son.
