Katherina Ushachov

Katherina Ushachov (born 1990 in Odessa , Soviet Union ) is a German writer and editor who lives in Austria . Her texts are mainly assigned to the genres of fantasy or science fiction .

Life

Born in 1990 in Odessa in what was then the Soviet Union, Ushachov came to Germany in 1997 at the age of six and attended elementary school in Chemnitz . There she was also active in the Jewish community. In 2009 she graduated from high school and then studied in Mainz . She completed her studies with a bachelor's degree in English and philosophy and a master's degree in world literature (especially Russian literature and book studies ). She now lives in Vorarlberg , Austria.

In addition to her work as a writer and freelance editor for self-publishers and small publishers , she is interested in languages, language construction and conlang as part of the literary construction of the world . Under the pseudonym Evanesca Feuerblut she writes for Weltenschmiede , a blog about world building.

In 2009 Ushachov published her first book of stories Licht und Schatten in self-publishing. She published the novels Tsarina Saltan and Der tote Prinz as a member of the group of authors, Märchenspinnerei . Both are adaptations of Pushkin's fairy tales , namely by Tsar Saltan and The Tale of the Dead Princess . In addition to novels, she has also published several short stories and articles in volumes of poetry.

She is a member of the Nornennetz , a group of Fantastik authors.
