Katherine Pancol (born October 22, 1954 in Casablanca ) is a French author born in Morocco .

biography

At the age of five, Katherine Pancol left Casablanca , Morocco for France with her parents . She studied literature and first became a teacher of French and Latin before turning to journalism. While working for Paris-Match and Cosmopolitan magazines , she was discovered by a publisher who was enthusiastic about her style and encouraged her to write books. After the great success of her debut novel Moi D'abord in 1979, Pancol moved to New York , where she attended Columbia University lectures on creative writing and screenwriting. During this time she wrote three other novels: Rampant ; Scarlett, if possible, and a man like my father .

During his time in America, Pancol's writing style also changed: It became more hectic, fun and action-packed.

Her novel Les yeux jaunes des crocodiles , published in 2006, was a great success in France, selling over a million copies. For this, Katherine Pancol was named “Best Author 2007” in Moscow . In 2008 Les yeux jaunes des crocodiles was number 6 of the best-selling books in France. The novel has been translated into Russian, Chinese, Ukrainian, Polish, Italian, Korean and Vietnamese, among others. With the two subsequent volumes, the novel forms a trilogy.

Katherine Pancol is divorced and has two grown children. She lives in Paris.
