Kathleen Haase (born June 25, 1992 in Ludwigsfelde ) is a former German handball player . The 1.77 m tall runner played in the Bundesliga team of the Frankfurt Handball Club from the 2010/11 season .

Career

Her career began in spring 2001 at SC Trebbin, where she learned the basics of handball in the boys' training group run by the Griebsch couple. In November 2002 she moved to the Ludwigsfeld handball club , where she was able to use what she had learned in training in point games. She won several district championship titles with her team and was elected Sportswoman of the Year for the city of Ludwigsfelde in 2004. In February 2005 she switched to the sports school in Frankfurt (Oder) ; there she won the national championship title in the first year.

After two cruciate ligament ruptures, Kathleen fought her way back and was national champion and national cup winner in 2010 with the club's junior team. In the summer of 2010 she made the leap into the Bundesliga squad of the Frankfurt handball club, where she played regularly.

The 19-year-old had to end her active career in November 2011 after the cruciate ligament in her left knee was torn again.
