Catholic Academy in Bavaria
The Catholic Academy in Bavaria was founded in 1957 as a church foundation under public law . The sponsors are the Bavarian archdioceses of Munich and Freising, as well as Bamberg and the dioceses of Augsburg , Eichstätt , Passau , Regensburg and Würzburg .
tasks
According to its statutes, it has the task of "clarifying and promoting the relationships between church and world". The Academy is the publisher of series (well over 200 volumes), the documentation magazine “zur debatte” (details see below) and is responsible for the publication of the work by Romano Guardini and the maintenance of the Romano Guardini archive (estate). The conference buildings of the Academy in Munich-Schwabing are the Kardinal-Wendel-Haus, the Viereckhof and Suresnes Castle .
Young Academy
As a young academy , the Catholic Academy also offers its own events for young adults. Its aim is to create an open and interactive forum for discussion and dialogue that goes beyond everyday university and professional life and addresses issues at the interface between science, society, church and faith. The offer ranges from study days and trips to workshops and interdisciplinary student holiday academies.
Journal of the Academy
The Academy has been publishing the magazine zur debatte since 1970 , which appears in seven to eight issues a year. With 12,000 subscribers, the magazine claims to be one of the largest Catholic magazines in German-speaking countries.
