Katie Marie Thorlakson (born January 14, 1985 in New Westminster , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian soccer player .
Career
societies
During her studies at the University of Notre Dame Thorlakson played for the local university team of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and at the same time played sporadically for the W-League participant Vancouver Whitecaps Women , with whom she played in 2004 and 2006 (without commitment) could celebrate the championship. In the spring of 2009 she returned to the Whitecaps after a two-year break as a regular player and later moved to the Australian first division club Melbourne Victory for one season . Then Thorlakson returned to Canada and let her career end at the lower class Surrey United SC, where she then worked as a youth coach.
National team
Thorlakson was part of several Canadian youth national teams and took part in the 2002 U-19 World Cup. On July 30, 2004, she made her debut in a friendly against Japan in the Canadian national team and was later part of the squad at the 2007 World Cup . There Thorlakson was only used in the preliminary round match against Ghana , which was also their last game for the national team.
