Katrin Jaggi (born September 13, 1967 ) is a Swiss architect and politician . She lives and works in Zurich and has been married to the Swiss artist Johannes Gees since 2002 . They have a son together.

Katrin Jaggi studied architecture at the ETH Zurich. After graduating, she initially worked in various renowned Zurich architecture firms such as Gigon and Guyer, Graber and Pulver and Fuhrimann Hächler . Jaggi moved to the building construction department of the city of Zurich in 2002, where she initially worked as a project manager and head of the specialist department for planner selection.

From 2006 to 2011, the qualified architect ETH / SIA headed the urban development and architecture division at the Office for Urban Development and was a member of the management team. From 2010 to 2011 she was also in charge of the preservation of historical monuments for the city of Zurich.

Jaggi has been running the company Katrin Jaggi Planning I Urban Development I Architecture since 2011 . Welcome2school, a school for young people in the asylum process

In 2016, Katrin Jaggi founded the Welcome2school together with Jan Capol. The school project, which started as a pilot project in April 2016, was expanded significantly over the course of 2016. At Welcome2school, more than 50 volunteer teachers currently teach 80 young people every day. Young people who would otherwise have no right to education and integration. Welcome2school wants to teach young refugees not only German but also basic mathematical skills and general education. At the same time, the pupils are introduced to the values ​​and norms that apply in Switzerland. Painting, making music and sports round off the educational offer.

Politics and culture

Katrin Jaggi is a member of the Social Democratic Party and sat from 2005 to 2010 as a representative of constituencies 4 and 5 of the city of Zurich in the Zurich Cantonal Council . From 2006 to 2007 she was a member of the Justice Commission and from 2007 to 2008 a member of the management of the Cantonal Council.

From 2011 to 2017 Katrin Jaggi was Vice President of the Theaterhaus Gessnerallee .
