biography

Impressed at an early age by his father's collection of classical music, Maeda began to compose on the keyboard , the guitar and the computer. He also experimented with other instruments and tried many recording techniques.

In addition to his project World's End Girlfriend, Maeda released a limited Christmas album in November 2003 under the name World's End Boyfriend on Romz Records . He's also released the album Enchanted Landscape Escape under the name Wonderland Falling Yesterday . In the film Late Bloomer , which was produced by Go Shibata in 2004 , Maeda's music is used as the soundtrack.

His brother Ryuma is also a musician who publishes under the name Milky-Chu .

World's End Girlfriend

As World's End Girlfriend ( Japanese ワ ー ル ズ ・ エ ン ド ・ ガ ー ル フ レ ン ド ), also WEG , Maeda has been publishing his music since 2000. His compositions contain electronica and post-rock elements, but the project is difficult to pin down into a particular genre .

In 2000 he released the EP Sky Short Story on Cubic Music and Listening You on Forfull and his first album Ending Story on the Current label . In 2001 the next album farewell kingdom followed on MIDI , which contains a collaboration with Piana and was later released in Europe, Taiwan and Hong Kong .

In 2002 Maeda toured Japan with SBK ( Skebo-King ) and played at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona . In December 2002 he released the mini album Dream's End come true . The next release, The Lie Lay Land , followed three years later, in 2005, and was also released in the USA by 12K / Happy .

In August 2005 Made played for the first time with a drummer on stage at the Sonar Festival in Spain. In the same year an album was recorded with the band Mono : Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain , on the Human Highway label. Together they went on tour through Europe for a month. Although this increased his level of awareness, he still hardly advertises his project.

In March 2007 the next album, Hurtbreak Wonderland , followed again on the Human Highway label. To support the release in Korea, he went on tour there before touring America with Mono this time.
