The Katsui Strait is a strait in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It runs between the south coast of King George Island and the offshore island of Penguin Island , connecting Sherratt Bay in the northeast with King George Bay in the southwest.
Polish scientists named it in 1999 after the Japanese volcanologist Yoshio Katsui (* 1926) from the University of Hokkaidō , who, together with the Chilean Óscar González-Ferrán, created the first geological map of Penguin Island in 1970.
