Katsuo Kuninaka

Katsuo Kuninaka ( Japanese 國 中 勝男 , Kuninaka Katsuo ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz musician ( double bass , composition).

Katsuo Kuninaka presented his debut album Warm Current in 1979 , which was created in changing line- ups , including a. with Ryōjirō Furusawa , Tadanori Konakawa , Akira Sakata , Masahiro Sayama , Kazunori Takeda and Yōsuke Yamashita and also contained own compositions. In the same year, Golden Live Stage (Frasco, 1979) was created. In 1980 Joachim-Ernst Berendt invited him and his quartet to the Donaueschinger Musiktage ; there the live album Dancing Islands (Next Wave, with Shōta Koyoma , Kazutoki Umezu , Shigeharu Mukai ) with compositions by Kunika was recorded. With Eiichi Hayashi , Kan Mikami and Shōta Koyama he belonged to the formation Si Ren Bang (四人 幇), with whom he recorded the album オ レ た ち の 事情 (Off Note, 2001). Kuninaka was also involved in the recordings of Kazunori Takeda, Masahiko Togashi and Yosuke Yamashita ( Jugemu , 1981); he also performed with Jun Fukamachi .
