Theming Maya - Ruin

Katun in the amusement park Mirabilandia ( Emilia-Romagna , Italy ) is a steel roller coaster from the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, which opened on April 1, 2000 and, at 1247 m, Europe's longest Inverted Coaster . With a total height of 51.5 m and the 45 m high first descent , it reaches a top speed of 105 km / h. It does six inversions : a loop , a zero-g-roll , a cobra-roll and two corkscrews after the block brake.

theme

Katun is after Maya - ruins discussed. The trains pass through a star gate at the beginning and at the end of the journey .

The name "Katun" refers to a period of 7200 days (approx. 20 years) in the Maya calendar .

Trains

Katun has three trains with eight cars each. Four people (a row of four) can be seated in each car. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.

accident

On August 18, 2007, a man was killed after being hit in the head by the leg of a person driving. He was in a cordoned off area below Katun when he was hit. The girl whose leg hit the man was injured and the train was temporarily closed.
