Kauzen-Bräu is a brewery from Ochsenfurt in Lower Franconia ( Bavaria ).

history

The Ochsenfurter Kauzen-Bräu was founded in 1809 by Karl Husband as a husband's brewery . After his death in 1839, the brewer Johann-Jacob Gehring leased the brewery and finally bought it in 1848. Since then, the brewery has been owned by the Gehring family, the owner family is called Pritzl by marriage. Kauzen-Bräu has been a member of the German Brewing Cooperation (today: Die Freie Brauer ) and a founding member of the Bavarian Brewers' Association since August 1st, 1972 . At the company's headquarters in Ochsenfurt on the Main, the brewery produces around 100,000 hectoliters of beverages annually . Around 70,000 hectoliters of this are accounted for by Kauzen beer and around 30,000 hectoliters by branded non-alcoholic beveragesLibella .
