Kawang ( Dzongkha : ཀ་ ཝང་ ) is one of eight Gewogs (blocks) of the Dzongkhag Thimphu in western Bhutan . Kawang Gewog is in turn divided into five Chiwogs (constituencies). According to the census of 2005, 2582 people live in this weight in an area of ​​307 km² in about 591 households. The Dzongkhag Administration names a number of 383 households on its website.

The Wang Chhu flows through the middle of the Kawang Gewog, which extends over altitudes between 2320 and 4769  m . The weight is largely in the catchment area of ​​the capital Thimphu , so that the population has easy access to schools and medical services.
