Kay Fisker
Kay Otto Fisker (born February 14, 1893 in Frederiksberg ; † June 21, 1965 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish architect and designer. He is one of the most important housing architects in Denmark and has worked internationally, but mainly in the greater Copenhagen area.
Fisker studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen from 1909 to 1921 and then worked as an architect at various Copenhagen offices. He was one of the architects of the Aarhus University buildings . From 1936 to 1963 he was a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Art. In 1951 and 1957 he was a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology .
At the beginning of his activity, Fisker's work was shaped by neoclassicism , as used by Carl Petersen . Fisker took part in Interbau 1957 in Berlin with the apartment building at Bartningallee 10 (see list of cultural monuments in Berlin-Hansaviertel ).
