The Kayserburg is an old castle on Hellbrunner Allee in the south of the city of Salzburg .
This little castle is kept simple and has three floors. The window frames, some of which are made of conglomerate stone, are striking. The building is covered by a high hipped roof. On the west side there is a coat of arms of the former owner Imhof.
It was built presumably in 1625 by the high-prince captain Hans Kayser, who received a “capture” from Archbishop Paris Lodron here. At first the castle was inherited by his brother-in-law Philipp Vermeulen. Later Johann Jakob Perger von Pergrain was the owner, in 1689 it went to Canon Ferdinand Graf Martiniz, in 1695 to Abraham Zillner von Zillerberg and in 1699 to the high-prince captain Andre. Later, too, the castle had rapidly changing, mostly aristocratic owners:
- In 1706 the Thun and Hohenstein family owned the castle
- 1830 the barons of Rehlingen,
- 1854 the Counts of Kuenburg ,
- 1904 Baron Max von Imhof,
- 1929 the family of Count Ledochowski .
To the south of the Kaiserhof, separated by an avenue-like street axis, is the Meierhof des Lasserhof . This street axis itself connects the Meierhof with the old aristocratic castle, today's Gwandhaus .
