Kazumi Inamura ( Japanese 稲 村 和美 , Inamura Kazumi ; born November 10, 1972 ) is a Japanese politician, mayor of Amagasaki and former co-chair of Midori no Mirai .

Inamura studied at the University of Kobe and became involved as a volunteer during her studies after the Hanshin Awaji earthquake in 1995 and then founded the “Volunteer Center of the University of Kobe” ( 神 戸 大学 総 合 ボ ラ ン テ ィ ア セ ン タā , Kobe Daigaku Borantia Sentia ). Later she also worked for a city council faction in Amagasaki, the Shimin Jichi Club ( 市民 自治 ク ラ ブ ). After her shūshi degree (master's) in 1998, she worked for a forerunner of today's securities company SMBC Friend Shōken , where she stayed until 2002. She then worked in the campaign office of Aya Shirai , who ran for the first time as mayor of Amagasaki.

In 2003 Inamura ran as an independent in the constituency of Amagasaki (7 seats) for the prefecture parliament and was elected with the third highest percentage of votes. In 2007 she was re-elected for a second term, now with the fourth-highest percentage of votes. She got involved in Midori no Table ("Green Table"), which was founded in 2004 as Sakigake's successor, and then from 2008 onwards at Midori no Mirai, where she led the national party chairmanship alongside Masaki Ioku. Since 2010 she has been an ordinary member of the party's "National Conference" ( zenkoku kyōgikai ).

In 2010 Inamura resigned from her parliamentary seat and ran for the mayor's office in Amagasaki herself. With the support of the incumbent Aya Shirai, she was elected against three other candidates in the election on November 21, 2010. She became the youngest woman to date as mayor of an independent city nationwide and the first woman mayor of the Japanese Green Party .
