Kazushi Hagiwara

Kazushi Hagiwara ( Japanese 萩 原 一 至 , Hagiwara Kazushi ; born April 4, 1963 in Nakano , Tokyo ) is a Japanese manga artist . What is striking about his drawing style is that he uses grid foils very carefully and frequently.

Life

Kazushi Hagiwara worked as an assistant for Izumi Matsumoto before he published his first manga as a professional draftsman in 1986 with Binetsu Rouge in Japan's best-selling manga magazine , Shōnen Jump , with a circulation of up to six million copies per week .

In 1987 he started his biggest success to date, Bastard !! , set in a crumbling future where humanity must fight demons and other hostile beings for survival. The fantasy manga was published weekly with a few short interruptions in Shōnen Jump until 2001 and ended there for the time being. Since 2004 Hagiwara continues to draw at Bastard !! , but not for a Shōnen magazine, but for his Ultra Jump magazine , for which, among other things, Oh! Great and Tsutomu Nihei work. So far, the popular manga series includes 27 anthologies and a hentai special, which has been translated into several languages ​​and has sold over 30 million times. (As of August 2010) From 1992 to 1993, a six-part original video animation based on Bastard was created! . In July 1995 the Shueisha publishing house published a 230-page art book with illustrations by Hagiwaras.

Next to bastard !! he has only published a few, short, works. His Bakuen Campus Guardress , on which he worked with Satoru Akahori , has appeared in V Jump , a sister magazine of Shōnen Jump . He also draws pornographic dōjinshi with the characters from Bastard !! .
