Keiichi Yamanaka

Keiichi Yamanaka (born March 16, 1947 in Osaka ) is a Japanese law scholar and professor at Kansai University .

Life

Yamanaka studied from 1966 to 1970 law at Kansai University in Osaka , where he made 1972 his Master of Law ( Shushi ). In 1975 he achieved a doctorate ( Hakase ) at the University of Kyoto . Yamanaka then worked as a lecturer in Osaka. In 1978 he became an associate professor there, and in 1985 he was given a scheduled full professorship at the Kansai University of Osaka. Numerous research stays in Germany followed, including at the universities of Munich , Cologne , Tübingen , Frankfurt am Main and Göttingen . From 1996 to 1998 he was dean of the Faculty of Law at Osaka University, and from 1997 to 2000 he was head of the Criminal Law Society of Japan. In 1999 he received his doctorate in Kyoto. iur. From 2001 to 2012 he was also a lecturer in criminal procedural law at the Kinki Region Police Academy .

Yamanaka's research focus is primarily on the comparison of criminal law, especially the comparison of the criminal law of Germany and Austria with that of Japan. He is also the co-author of numerous standard textbooks on the general and specific parts of Japanese criminal law.
