The University of Białystok ( Polish : Uniwersytet w Białymstoku ; Latin : Universitas Bialostocensis ) is a university in Białystok , Poland . It also has a branch in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius .

The University of Białystok was opened on June 19, 1997 and is a successor to a Białystok department of the University of Warsaw . The university currently has 17,000 students in 7 faculties and 16 courses. They are offered the degrees or diplomas , Bachelor and Magister Artium as well as the doctoral degree and the habilitation .
