Keiko Yamada

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Keiko Yamada ( Japanese 山田 圭子 , Yamada Keiko ; born August 18, 1972 in Usuki , Japan ) is the front singer of the Japanese band Globe . Her solo pseudonyms were Keiko (2003-2008), kco (from 2008 with Universal Music ) and KCO (since 2010 with Avex Globe ).

Life

She has also been a solo singer since 2001 and became known outside of Globe for her single "A Song Is Born", a duet with Ayumi Hamasaki . The single was released in the Song Nation project, in which various performers of the record label Avex Trax worked together and the sales proceeds went to the victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 . The single reached the top of the Oricon charts in Japan and was the project's most successful release. In November 2002 she married the music producer and band member of Globe Tetsuya Komuro .

After she released two more singles in 2003, her first album "O-Crazy Luv" and another single "Haru no Yuki" ( 春 の 雪 ) were released in 2008 . When her husband was charged with fraud in November 2008 for selling rights to his songs that he no longer owned for $ 5.6 million, Keiko stated that the early year releases were necessary to improve her husband's financial position . At this time, separation rumors emerged in public, which Keiko later denied.

In 2011, the singer suffered a stroke and, due to the consequences, was in hospital for several years and received follow-up treatment.

After a cheating scandal based on her husband Komuro at the beginning of 2018, it was announced in the summer of the same year that both would now live separately. Keiko's family members also added that Tetsuya did not care about Keiko and that his image of the caring husband was a lie. Komuro also said in an interview that Keiko was no longer interested in commercial singing.
