Keiran J. Dunne

Keiran J. Dunne is an American translation scholar and has been a professor at the Institute for Applied Linguistics at Kent State University (Ohio) since 2006 .

Life

Keiran Dunne earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Rochester (New York) before graduating from the University of Rennes 2 with a maîtrise and from the University of Strasbourg with a French university degree. He wrote his doctoral thesis in French Studies at Pennsylvania State University .

As a university lecturer and translation scholar, Dunne is primarily concerned with the field of software localization and the use of project, quality and terminology management solutions in the processing of corresponding translation projects. His goal is to develop pragmatic approaches for everyday translators. Dunne also includes machine translation and translation memories in his research and links them with his practical work as a freelance (software) translator for various American companies.
