Keith (singer)
Keith (born May 7, 1949 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ; actually James Barry Keefer ) is a former American singer .
Keefer began his musical career in 1966 as the singer of the band Keith and the Admirations . With his first solo single Ain't Gonna Lie , he reached the top 40 of the US Billboard charts.
The greatest success of his career came in January 1967 when he rose to number 7 on the Billboard charts with the single 98.6 . The title of the single is a person's body temperature, measured in degrees Fahrenheit .
With the follow-up single Tell Me to My Face , which was written by the Hollies , he landed another smaller hit.
After several failures, Keith ended his career in 1969. In the mid-1980s he tried a comeback , but without any significant success.
