Maria Gommers ( Maria Francisca Philomena "Mia" Gommers ; born September 26, 1939 in Stein ) is a former Dutch middle-distance runner .

On June 24, 1967, she set a world record of 4: 15.6 minutes in the 1,500-meter run , which Paola Pigni beat two and a half years later . At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, she won the bronze medal in the 800-meter run behind the American Madeline Manning and the Romanian Ileana Silai . At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , she won silver over 1500 m.
