Keith Douglas Abbiss (born April 26, 1932 in Hatfield ) is a retired English football player .

Career

Abbiss played as an amateur in the Spartan League for Hitchin Town from 1949 , from 1951 to 1953 he was active in local football from Hertfordshire for Letchworth Town , before returning to Hitchin Town for three years, for which he played a total of 97 competitive games (29 goals) . In 1956, he moved to Biggleswade Town in the Eastern Counties Football League , before becoming a professional at Brighton & Hove Albion in October 1957 . Until his competitive debut in the Second Division , it took until November 1959, when he was coached by Billy Lane against Rotherham Unitedwas called up. In the following years, the left wing runner was used sporadically, only at the end of the 1959/60 season , he played ten games in a row when his team left the relegation ranks well behind with five wins and three draws in the last ten games. After only two missions in the 1960/61 season , Abbiss received no new contract and subsequently played in the Southern League for Chelmsford City , Romford FC and Brentwood Town .
