Eastern Counties Football League

The Eastern Counties Football League is an English football league for clubs from the Counties of Norfolk , Suffolk , northern Essex and eastern Cambridgeshire .

founding

The league began playing in the 1934/35 season with 10 teams at the time, including the later UEFA Cup winner Ipswich Town . The first champions were jointly the teams from Harwich and Lowestoft, after a play-off due to a tie at the end of the season ended with 3: 3.

Game class structure

Up to the 1987/88 season, the number of clubs participating in the game grew gradually to up to 20 teams. For the 1988/89 season, numerous other teams were included in the game operations in a significant expansion step and the game operations were then divided into the Premier Division and the First Division located below .
