Keith Stephen Lowe (born September 13, 1985 in Wolverhampton ) is an English football player . Both in central defense as applicable also on the right side defender was at the Wanderers Wolverhampton trained, but could not prevail permanently there and moved to various short-term stays, first in 2010 to the fourth division Cheltenham Town and from there three and a half years later, the league rivals York City .

Athletic career

Lowe attended the academy of Wolverhampton Wanderers in his hometown and came on August 23, 2004 in the League Cup against AFC Rochdale (4-2) to his first competitive game on the professional team. In November 2004 he signed the first professional contract with the "Wolves"; while at that time he was regularly found in the starting lineup with eleven league appearances. In the following years, however, the young defender should not be able to establish himself in the first team and so between 2005 and 2008 he mostly only received sporadic match practice as a loan player at "visiting clubs".

The first brief engagement led him to the second division rivals Burnley FC at the beginning of the 2005/06 season . He returned to Wolverhampton in December 2005 to help out a short time later at the Queens Park Rangers and then at the Welsh club Swansea City for a month each - so he completed competitive games for four different professional clubs during the 2005/06 season. Also in the following season 2006/07 Lowe was active as a loan player. But while the initial phase at Brighton & Hove Albion between August and September 2006 was crowned with little success, he made such a good impression on third division Cheltenham Town during the two following months that he was invited again to end the season to play. At the third division competitor Port Vale , he then played the entire 2007/08 season and played 31 competitive games there. The "loan odyssey" then came to an end, as his home club in Wolverhampton released him in August 2008 for a transfer.

The path led Lowe to the lower-class Kidderminster Harriers , where he met coach Mark Yates , whom he had met from his time in Burnley and Cheltenham. With 42 championship games, he was an instant fixture at his new club. However, he then fell victim to the necessary budget cuts in the club and moved to Hereford United in May 2009 , which had recently been relegated to the fourth-rate Football League Two . After one season and 19 league games, he signed another one-year contract with the ex-loan club and Hereford league rivals Cheltenham Town.

Overall, Lowe stayed in Cheltenham until the end of November 2013, before joining league rivals York City on loan until January 2014 . In January 2014, he finally signed a contract in York until the end of the 2015/16 season.
