Norbert Borgolte

Norbert Borgolte (born July 18, 1929 in Bochum ; † July 28, 2012 ) was a German lawyer and former chairman of the 12th Senate of the Federal Social Court (BSG).

Life

Borgolte studied law at the Universities of Mainz , Bonn and Cologne . In 1954 he passed the first and, after his legal clerkship, the second state examination in 1959 . He then joined the social justice system as a judge in June 1959 . In October 1972 he became a judge at the State Social Court of North Rhine-Westphalia and in February 1978 a judge at the Federal Social Court.

On March 15, 1991 he became the chairman of the 12th Senate of the Federal Social Court, which was then responsible for insurance and contribution law in health, pension, craftsmen's, unemployment and artists' social insurance. Borgolte was a member of the judges' council of the Federal Social Court from 1982 to 1990 and was chairman of the council in 1986. He was also a specialist for documentation. In this respect he dealt with the usability of computers in the context of case law.

On March 31, 1993, he retired.

Norbert Borgolte died on July 28, 2012 at the age of 83.
