Kellerhals from 1733

The cellar in Kirchgasse 17 in the Heilbronn district of Horkheim is considered a cultural monument .

description

The vaulted cellar was built in two construction phases: The first construction phase of the vaulted cellar was in the Middle Ages . The smaller, lower and rear part of the cellar, with irregular quarry stone masonry, dates from this time . The second construction phase is dated to the year 1733. The larger, front barrel vault of the cellar comes from the second construction phase . The wide arched cellar neck of the vaulted cellar facing Kirchgasse is remarkable. There is a round arched gate leading to the cellar, whereby a wedge stone with the initials of the builder with the handcraft marks has been preserved in the round arch . The initials refer to the owner Johann Philipp Rödel, while the anchor and grappling hook are the handicraft symbols displayed in the wedge. Rödel was the first skipper to come to Horkheim around 1720.
