Kemal Ergun

Kemal Ergün (* 1967 in Ordu , Turkey ) has been chairman of the Islamic Community Millî Görüş (IGMG) since May 2011 .

biography

Ergün studied Islamic theology at Istanbul University and continued his studies at al-Azhar University in Cairo, where he specialized in hadith studies. There he completed his studies in 1992. The following year he began working as an imam in Frankfurt am Main . Since 1995 he has been active as an imam and board member in the regional association Rhein-Neckar-Saar of the IGMG. In 2002 he became regional association chairman in Cologne . In 2003, he also took on the role of Hajj leader of the IGMG. Kemal Ergün recently obtained a master's degree with a thesis on Germany's migration and integration policy at the Anadolu University .
