The H. Kemper GmbH & Co. KG is a German food manufacturer .

Founded in 1888 by Hermann Kemper, the company is based in Nortrup and has a location in Cloppenburg , is in the fourth generation of family ownership and is one of the leading manufacturers of raw sausage , ham and scalded sausage specialties in Europe. Around 1,350 employees generate an annual turnover of 400 million euros. The managing directors are Andreas Kühnl, Wolfgang Kühnl and Stephan Schmidt, and the personally liable partner is Kemper Verwaltungs-GmbH.

In 2014 the Federal Cartel Office imposed a three-digit million fine on 21 sausage companies, including H. Kemper, for illegal price fixing.

The last train of the decommissioned Transrapid test facility Emsland , the Transrapid 09 (TR09), was installed on the company premises in September 2017 . The Kemper family, from which Hermann Kemper , the inventor of the magnetic levitation train, came from, bought it for € 200,001. The three 25 m long sections of the train are to be used as conference and exhibition rooms on the history of the Transrapid.

In 2019, Kemper and the previous competitor Reinert decided to merge with effect from the turn of the year 2020. The entire company, known as The Family Butchers (TFB), will be the second largest meat processing company in Germany after the Tönnies Group with a market share of between 10 and 20 percent, annual sales of over 700 million euros, nine processing facilities and around 2,600 employees . The owner families Kühnl and Reinert of the original company each hold half of the shares. The Federal Cartel Office has approved the project.
