Ken Shellito

Kenneth John Shellito (born April 18, 1940 in East Ham , England , † October 31, 2018 in Inanam , Malaysia ) was an English football player and coach.

Career

Shellito played his entire football career at Chelsea . He joined the blues at the age of 17 and made his debut two years later against Nottingham Forest . He played a total of seven more seasons at Chelsea before ending his career in 1966 due to many injuries. After the end of his career, Shellito was part of the Blues coaching staff and from 1968 he was in charge of the Chelsea FC youth academy. In 1977 he was even head coach in London for a year . After his career at Chelsea, he was a brief coach at Cambridge United and then at some clubs in Malaysia .

In late 2018, Shellito was hospitalized for lung infections and kidney failure at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu. He was later released on October 30th before dying on October 31st with his family at his residence in Kampung Minintod, Inanam.
