Ken Wahl (born October 31, 1954 in Chicago , Illinois ; actually Anthony Calzaretta ) is an American actor .

Life

Ken Wahl had his first success as an actor as Richie in the movie The Wanderers . This was followed by appearances on the side of stars like Paul Newman in the film The Bronx in 1981 and a year later in Verhext (original title: Jinxed!) Next to Bette Midler . He had his greatest success as Vinnie Terranova in the crime series Fight Against the Mafia (original title: Wiseguy) from 1987 to 1990. For his leading role he was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy in 1989 and received a Golden Globe in 1990 after another nomination in the TV series / drama category .

After Ken Wahl had an accident with life-threatening injuries in 1992, he ended his film career, apart from three other film appearances. In the press the accident was described as a motorcycle accident. In 2004 he said in an interview that the story with the motorcycle accident was not true, but that he fell down a flight of stairs at Rodney Dangerfield's friend and broke his neck. However, that did not change the health problems he had after the accident.

With this accident and the chronic pain that he was increasingly numbing with alcohol, his further decline in health began, which ended in 1996 with the final exit from the film business. Ken Wahl always gratefully declined generous offers from producers who wanted to help him make a comeback. After his first marriage to the model Corinne Alphen , he is now married to the model Shane Barbi .
