Ken Zazpi is a Basque pop rock group from Gernika ( Bizkaia ) founded in 1996 . It was founded by Jon Mikel Arronategi, the bassist of the group Exkixu and Eñaut Elorrieta, the singer of the group Lugarri .

Emergence

Ken Zazpi was founded in autumn 1996 in the Basque town of Gernika by Jon Mikel Arronategi and Eñaut Elorrieta . Both were members of other local groups at the time, Exkixu and Lugarri. The group first appeared on the compilation Aurtengo Gorakada 1 from the record company GOR Discos , on which they released the song Bi eta bat . Despite their first steps in the music business, the Ken Zazpi project didn't gain seriousness until 2000 when the group was joined by bassist Igor Artzanegi , guitarist Beñat Serna , keyboardist Iñaki Zabaleta and drummer Jon Fresko . A demo was recorded with the new members in the municipality of Muxika (Bizkaia) in collaboration with Jose Alberto Batizen from the Akelarre group from Bilbao .

The debut album was released in 2001 under the name Atzo da bihar ("Yesterday is tomorrow") by the record label Gor diskak . The album was a resounding success, selling more than 20,000 copies. This made Ken Zazi known throughout the Basque Country. The song Zenbat min ("Much Harm "), along with the version of the famous song Ezer ez da betiko ("Nothing is forever"), opened many doors for the group.

With their acoustic album Gelditu Denbora (German: “Halt die Zeit”), released in 2005 , they managed to give their first concerts in the Basque Country , Navarra and even in Catalonia .
