Kenan Ormanlar

Kenan Ormanlar (born June 17, 1937 in Skopje , Yugoslavia , † March 17, 2015 in Istanbul ) was a cameraman of Turkish origin living in Germany .

life and work

Ormanlar grew up in Istanbul . He had lived in Germany since the early 1960s. He was one of the first to graduate from the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF), but also studied at the German Institute for Film and Television (DIFF) and at the FOF. In the early 1970s he played one of the supporting roles in the German softcore flick Jodeln is ka Sünd (1974) by Ulli Lommel .

As a cameraman, Ormanlar later shot internationally successful, in some cases award-winning films such as Erden Kiral's Eine Saison in Hakkari (1983) or At (1982) by Ali Özgentürk . He also worked as a producer and maker of German and Turkish films with his own production company in Munich and as a screenwriter. Ormanlar also gave numerous film seminars for young filmmakers. From 1975 to 1991 he was a guest lecturer at the HFF Munich.
