life and career

Kendall Brown comes from a sports-loving family, and her brother Mitchell, who is two years older, is also a successful snowboarder. She made her international debut at the age of fifteen in September 2004 at the Remarkables in her homeland, New Zealand. There she was second in an FIS race in the halfpipe. Just a month later, she started her first World Cup race in Saas-Fee , but was 36th but could not repeat the good result of her debut. It was almost a year before her next start, and she was able to finish third again on the podium at the FIS race in the Remarkables. In order to qualify for the 2006 Olympic Games , she competed in eight World Cup races beforehand in the 2005/2006 season . With a tenth place in Valle Nevado and fourth place in the last race before the Olympics in Leysin , Switzerland , she achieved two top ten results and she was nominated for the start in Turin . As the youngest participant in New Zealand at the Olympic Games at all, she was unable to qualify for the final and finished 24th in the final ranking. At the end of the season, her points in the season ranking of the Halfpipe World Cup were nineteenth. In 2007 she only contested one FIS race, but took part in the World Championship in Arosa . With 22nd place she was able to improve a little compared to the Olympic Games.

With a top ten placement at each of her World Cup starts in the 2007/2008 season , she was able to improve significantly, but she only started in four competitions in the second half of the season, giving her a better placement than the fourteenth place for the halfpipe discipline was denied, in the overall ranking of the World Cup that meant rank 50.

In addition to the FIS competitions , Brown also competes in the Ticket-to-Ride Tour and was able to draw attention to himself with several top ten places in the series.

Kendall Brown lives in Mount Maunganui , New Zealand.
