Kenji Wakamatsu ( Japanese 若 松 け ん 将 , Wakamatsu Kenji ; born August 16, 1972 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Wakamatsu learned to play soccer on the school team at Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School and the university team at Fukuoka University . He signed his first contract in 1993 with Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 1994 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club. In 1995 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup . At the end of 1995 he ended his career as a football player.
