Kennel Club
Kennel Club ( German literally: Kennel Club , abbreviation KC ) is a term for umbrella organizations of the dog breed in the English-speaking area. Without further naming, the Kennel Club usually means the British KC .
Use of the term Kennel Club
Numerous associations outside of the English-speaking area either use this English name directly or are at least usually translated into English using this name. The term is used both for regional associations and for national associations that unite breeders of different breeds. Race breed clubs (that breed clubs that are only a race dedicated), however, called in English Breed Club (breed club). The term kennel club is often used by the FCI in English-language publications as a neutral term for a national umbrella organization, as in the following excerpt from the FAQ on the English-language website of the FCI:
"For the following questions, the FCI requests the visitors (PRIVATE PEOPLE) to turn to the national kennel club (FCI members) of their country."

The umbrella organizations from the Scandinavian region use similar names. These are the Dansk Kennel Klub ( Denmark ), the Norsk Kennel Club ( Norway ), the Svenska Kennelklubben ( Sweden ) and the Suomen Kennelliitto - Finska Kennelklubben ( Finland ).
