Kenneth Ferrie (born September 28, 1978 in Ashington ) is an English professional golfer on the European Tour .

Ferrie won the British Boys Championship in 1996 and received an invitation to a European Tour event in his home region, the Slaley Hall Northumberland Challenge , but did not survive the cut . In 1999 he became a professional golfer and in 2000 played mainly on the Challenge Tour , where he was able to record his first tournament success - the Tessali Open del Sud . At the end of the season, Ferrie qualified for the European Tour through the Tour School , but could not assert himself there and had to fight for the right to play again. In 2003 he won the first major tournament series with the Canarias Open de España and in 2005 he managed to win one of the more important titles, the Smurfit European Open in the famous K Club in Ireland. He finished the year in 11th place on the money list.

Kenneth Ferrie was a member of the victorious European team in the 2006 Royal Trophy , a Ryder Cup-like comparison match with the best Asian golfers.

At the US Open 2006, Ferrie was in the golfing spotlight for a long time and at times led the field. He finally finished in an excellent 6th place, which guaranteed him fixed starting positions at next year's Masters and the US Open. In 2008 he tried his hand at the PGA Tour but could not assert himself and returned to the European Tour in 2009.

After five years without a win, Ferrie won the Austrian Open in September 2011 and thus his third title on the European Tour.
