Kenneth Gilbert "Ken" Glass (born July 24, 1913 in Toronto , † January 17, 1961 in Vancouver ) was a Canadian sailor .

successes

Kenneth Glass, who for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club sailed, won in 1932 in Los Angeles at the Olympic Games in the 6 meter class bronze medal. He was a crew member of the boat Caprice , led by skipper Philip Rogers , which finished the first four races in third and last place and was third behind the only other two boats. The Americans finished all races in second place, the Swedes came first. Due to the lack of prospects of success, the Canadians did not take part in the last two of the six races. In addition to Glass, Gerald Wilson and Gardner Boultbee were part of the Caprice's crew . From 1953 to 1954 he was Commodore of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.

In 1939 Glass graduated from the University of British Columbia . During World War II , he served in the Royal Canadian Navy . After the war he worked in the light metal industry and rose to the position of president of Western Magnesium .
